The main railroad station in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is celebrating a 125th anniversary. For this occassion the Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde has created a light show to be projected on the 148 foot tall eastern facade of the platform shed. It's called "the Rainbow Station" and involves some newfangled way of projecting color lights using something called: geometric phase holograms. It was developed by the North Carolina State University and the University of Leiden.
Whatever the technology, it does look pretty.
